Over the years many guests have commented that visiting Carolina cabin is like staying at the home of an out-of-town friend. It has all the comforts of home, as well as the privacy of the woods, the beauty of the mountains and the activities of a resort area.
Every room in the cabin has cathedral ceilings. The living room has a raised hearth wood burning fireplace with a stone chimney that rises to the highest point in the roof. A couch, loveseat and rocker provide seating. Glass doors open to the front deck.
The kitchen is well stocked equipped with full size range and oven, microwave oven, dishwasher and disposal. There are pretty dishes, nice stainless silverware, wine glasses and good cutlery.
With two bedrooms, a sleeping loft and a single rollaway bed, the cabin can sleep 7. Each of the bedrooms has glass doors which open to the front deck.
There are two full baths and a laundry area with full size washer and dryer, iron and ironing board.
The 5-person hot tub has its own room indoors, with a door that opens to a walled side deck nestled in the trees. This deck is especially nice for reading outdoors on a windy day.
A large deck runs along the front of the cabin and is accessible by big glass doors from each of the bedrooms and the living/dining room area. It is equipped with several chairs, a picnic table, and a gas barbecue grill. From this deck you can see the ski slope in the winter when the trees are bare.
A third deck runs along the west side of the cabin and is shaded most of the time.
The cabin is in very good condition. It is heated by electric wall units located in each room, making it comfortable even in the coldest weather. Paddle fans in the bedrooms and living/dining area cool the cabin on warm summer days. Since the cabin is at approximately 4500 foot elevation, it is always cool in the evenings.
In the winter, you can see skiers going down the slopes of the ski resort just 1/2 mile away.
The driveway comes to the back door, providing level entry.

Located on Seven Devils Mountain in the North Carolina High Country, the cabin is within walking distance (1/2 mile) of Hawksnest Ski and Golf resort. The towns of Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock are nearby. It is a quiet, heavily wooded, residential area, with a mix of full time residents and owners/ renters. The paved roads are well maintained by the Town of Seven Devils. The community is very secure, with only one road in and out; the town Police and Fire Station/Town Hall is located about midway up the main road, and only a few miles below the cabin.
